Every time Laura and I talked about remodeling, I insisted on a paving stone driveway. Our builder thinks pavers are a passing fad, and tried to move us to lower cost poured concrete. I held out.I just like 'em. When installed really well, it's very hard to pick up a pattern in the stones, making the element look as unique as the property itself. They almost never show cracks (important where the ground moves), and maintenance is just about as low as concrete. While she still wonders about my insistence, this is one of the first "gifts" Laura suggested in the remodel.
